Barry 1886, born in Dublin was educated in Ireland before leaving to pursue painting in London. She was particularly fond of painting flowers and landscapes. She has exhibited in Dublin, London, Amsterdam and RHA exhibitions from 1908 to 1952.

This painting of Rhododendrons depicts open and close-up rendering of blooms and leaves that shows an unassuming sensitivity, not only to the subject but to the paint as medium and to strong patterned design.
